So you stumbled on nufu tv which is being advertised on Facebook as an affordable NFL streaming site. You’re probably wondering if it’s legit, as the plans are very cheap compared to other football streaming sites.

Well, here’s what you need to know about Nufu.tv, and risks of using illegal streaming sites.

What is Nufu.tv?

Nufu.tv is a platform that offers football (soccer) match streaming in various resolution. The homepage boasts ‘No Ads, No Lags, just HD content’. It also has an app available on Google Playstore, which unfortunately has 2 star ratings from users.

Majority of the reviews are complaints on issues such as ‘match buffering, freezing of the app, and login issues’.

However, aside the negative reviews, nufu.tv poses both security and illegal risks to users.

Nufu.tv is not legal. It’s running an illegal game of pirated content. It has not gotten the rights from NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS, and NCAAF to broadcast the match. So it’s not a licensed streaming site.

Funny enough, it’s making people PAY to commit crime.

Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, distribution of copyright materials is punishable by law. Those found guilty of copyright infringement may face the following penalties:

  • Up to five years in jail
  • Fines and charges of up to $150,000 per file
  • In addition to any other charges that might be brought against you, the copyright holder can file suit, which can result in legal fees and damages that must be paid

Is your data safe on this site?

No, your data isn’t safe on nufu.tv. The website and its App have not put up any Terms of Conditions or Privacy Policy info. Users have no way of knowing if their data is safe on the site (and app). The owners of Nufu could sell your info to big data companies.

This info include your – email address, IP address, browser type, cookies, device type, operating system, buying preferences and online behaviours.

The Bottom Line

Nufu.tv is not a legit streaming site. Aside from being illegal, it poses the risk of harvesting your data and also infecting your device with malware or bloatware . Malware or bloatware are viruses that can be hidden in a web page and a video.

They cause the following negative effects on both your device and your personal data.

  • slow your device
  • causes annoying pop-ups to appear in your browser and on your device
  • provide criminals access to your login details, credit card information, or confidential files.
