About RivalTac Tiny Mosquito Repeller

To solve the problem of mosquito and insect bites, a U.S army soldier allegedly invented the RivalTAC device. The tiny repeller is said to use Dual-Repel™ Heating Technology, creating a protective layer within 40 ft such that mosquitoes and insects of any kind wouldn’t come close. It is said to be perfect for outdoor enthusiasts like backpackers, campers, hunters, and RV users.

The websites selling this product boast that it has the following features –

  • Waterproof
  • Has a Strong battery capacity
  • Can be used as a power bank to charge mobile devices
  • Works as a camping light with 4-level brightness adjustment
  • Has a magnetic design which makes it easy to mount.

Testing RivalTac Mosquito Repellent

Our order from buyrivaltac.com arrived in approximately 18 days. However, upon unboxing, there were no manuals or instructions of how to order more refills. For charging, it has a USB-A and USB-C port. The RivalTAC uses battery to heat the repellent wafer (critonella). Meanwhile, the lantern has options from 50, 100, 200, and 400 lumens. So, you get all the light you need for any situation.

However, the device which is said to quickly create a 40-foot mosquito-free area in 10 minutes, couldn’t stop mosquitoes for swarming around us when we went camping.

It doesn’t heat enough to make any difference or disperse the repellent. We took the front off the of the RivalTac and the heating element only gets 145C thats 20 degrees colder than advertised and this is why we think it doesn’t work properly.

Meanwhile, the charge doesn’t last long. We have tried it on low and high heat without the light and really only get a 2-3 hours of use before it needs to be recharged.

When we chatted the company up about the flaws and requested for a refund, they want us to send it back to the US with tracking number. This will cost more than 39$ we paid for buying one.

Is RivalTAC a Scam?

The RivalTac is not a scam perse, however it’s not an effective mosquito repelling device. When used during camping, there was no difference as we were still bitten by mosquitoes even when there was no wind.

The Rivaltac does not really repel mosquitoes, but it has a strong flashlight for camping, and serves as an efficient power bank (4800 mAh battery).

Using RivalTac mosquito repeller to charge my phone

The manufacturers of this product should consider making the device work and create a better return policy.

Also, they should ditch the deceptive marketing strategy; the invention story of the US engineer soldier is total false and BS. Even the ‘As Seen On’ displayed on buyrivaltac.com and getrivaltac.com are false. There is no record of RivalTAC mentioned in LAD Bible, Daily Mail, Insider, etc.

Meanwhile the 5 star ratings and reviews on the site are not real. If 2000 customers are indeed satisfied with the device, I doubt they wouldn’t have made reviews of it online. So where’s the evidence aside the three unverifiable reviews posted on the site?

Pros

  1. Versatile – Works as a flashlight & Power bank
  2. Clips anywhere – Can hang it anywhere
  3. Very portable – Its lightweight design makes it easy to pack for traveling, camping, etc.

Cons

  1. Does not repel mosquitoes
  2. Unfavorable return policy

Should You Buy The RivalTac?

We honestly don’t recommend Rival Tac Mosquito repeller due to the flaws we observed. It doesn’t repel mosquitoes, the battery doesn’t last long, and it’s sold with deceptive marketing.

If you’re keen on getting a mosquito repelling device, you should consider DynaTrap. It is an effective mosquito zapper as it uses both UV Light and an exclusive Ti02 titanium dioxide-coated surface, which creates a reaction to produce a CO2 trail that mimics human breath and is irresistible to mosquitoes. Once attracted to the unit, the powerful, whisper-quiet fan draws the insects and mosquitoes into the retaining cage where they dehydrate and die, typically within 24 hours.

However, it comes at a high cost of $179 due to its size and features.

  1. I bought the Rival tac. NO instruction!!! Over 10 days Called 15 times to get directions- “will send to your email in 5 to 15 mins” never did. Could only get 1 of the tables in the unit. As a Mosquito Repellent- it DOES NOTHING to mosquito ever!!! After 10 days called to get a refund from their “so called Excellent customer service” NOT. After arguing for 20 mins to get a full refund and return the unit, I settled on 85% refund and keeper the unit. I would get an email on this is 5 mins, I said you are a lier. Ha Ha Ha. Did not receive an email but a credit was on my Credit card in minutes. So there are no directions and it did not repellent mosquito.
