This often occurs when you’re trying to upload, save a new story, or update a story. Though there’s no information on the Wattpad support website, about such error code, the error is caused by wrong image format.

While updating or saving a story you might have an image included which isn’t formatted as gifs, jpegs, jpgs, or pngs. However, if there’s no image in the story you’re uploading, saving or updating, the problem is not from your end.

How To Fix error 131 on Wattpad

  • Check the formats of the image(s) in the story
  • If it isn’t formatted as gifs, jpegs, jpgs, or pngs, kindly remove.
  • Add an image that is formatted as gifs, jpegs, jpgs or png
  • Save or update

If your story doesn’t contain any image, then you should do the following;

  1. Make sure you’re not editing your Wattpad story in multiple devices
  2. Use google docs to save your story, in case it gets deleted
  3. Toggle your wi-fi/data connection off and on again, or try connecting to another wi-fi network.
  4. Try logging out and back into your Wattpad account, making sure to completely close the app.
  5. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

Furthermore, take a deep breathe. A lot of people experienced this same issue the last three days, and now they are not having the issue.
