Let me start by saying: I’m a mom of three. Which means my body has been through some things. By 9 p.m., I’m a human puddle. So when I started seeing the Moon Pod everywhere—this weirdly chic beanbag that claims to make you feel weightless—I was intrigued.
Does it live up to the hype? Is it actually worth the price? Can it survive a house full of tiny, snack-dropping humans?
Let’s get into it. 👇
What Even Is the Moon Pod?
The Moon Pod is like the luxury Tesla of beanbags. It’s tall, squishy, surprisingly stylish, and supposedly good for posture, anxiety, and even back pain. It comes in colors like Cosmic Ash and Space Gray, because yes, this thing takes its space vibes seriously.
In order to avoid the hassles of shipping I ordered directly from The MoonPod Store on Amazon.com. I got mine for $219 instead of $299 because I signed up for Amazon Store Card (you can sign up for one here if you’d love to have a shopping card. Note – It has no fee attached)
My Experience: The First Plop
Let me tell you… the first plop onto the Moon Pod is what dreams are made of. I sank in slowly, like I was being welcomed back to the womb. 😂 My spine went ahhhh, my shoulders dropped, and for a glorious moment, I forgot the mountain of laundry waiting for me.

It hugs you in this soft but supportive way—like a weighted blanket and memory foam chair had a baby. I tried sitting upright, lounging, even lying flat on my back with a baby on my chest. Still comfy.
BUT (there’s always a but)… after 20 minutes, I did have to readjust a bit. It doesn’t stay perfectly molded forever, especially if you’re wiggly like me.
Mom Life Test: Kids, Snacks & Chaos
We all know no piece of furniture is safe in a mom house. So I tested the Moon Pod the only way I know how:
✅ Toddlers jumping on it? Survived.
✅ Juice box spill? Cover is removable and washable—bless.
✅ Dog tried to claim it as her new throne? Also yes.
✅ I used it to breastfeed? Surprisingly comfy!
It’s lightweight, so I moved it from the living room to the bedroom with one hand while holding a baby. (If you know, you know.)
Pros
✔️ Actually supportive—great for back and neck pain
✔️ Chic enough to not ruin your aesthetic
✔️ Washable cover = mom-approved
✔️ Lightweight and easy to move
✔️ Can double as a reading nook, breastfeeding seat, or nap pod
Cons
❌ Pricey (definitely an investment)
❌ Not great for multiple people—one Moon Pod = one body. Except kids, of course.
❌ You’ll fight your kids for it
❌ Needs occasional refluffing to stay comfy
❌ Accessories like the Crescent Back Pillow or Super Moon Bundle = $$$
Final Verdict
Is the Moon Pod magical? Honestly… kind of yeah.
Is it life-changing? For a tired, overstimulated mom? Also yes.
Is it a necessity? No. But it is a dreamy luxury that makes collapsing at the end of the day feel a little more like floating into space.
If you can swing the price—or score it on sale—it’s a fabulous treat-yourself buy. I wouldn’t give mine up. Unless they make one big enough to fit my whole family. (Hint hint, Moon Pod team.)
So… would you curl up in a Moon Pod? Already have one and love it? Let me know below—I love hearing how other moms (and their pets 😂) are using it!
